Become a Visually Impaired Sailor

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Visually Impaired sailor with the UK North Blind Sailing Association. Here is some information about us.
We were founded in 2009, with the aim of promoting the sporting and social inclusion of Visually Impaired people in and around sailing. We provide suitable safety equipment and waterproof clothing, as well as training for our members. This means you can take part with little or no experience. As long as you have a reasonable level of fitness, sailing is a very accessible sport to all Visually Impaired people.
Recently, we commissioned a survey to find out what people thought were the advantages of sailing for blind people. 92% of the people we surveyed believed that sailing promotes team work, with 89% of people agreeing it increases a persons confidence and self reliance. Only 56% of people believe sailing to be physically demanding.
We are always looking for new members, so if you are interested click the Contact button below and provide us with your contact details.
